We bought
a Kadey-Krogen! We have been looking at
these boats for years and dreaming of retirement. Although we are not ready to retire we decided
that it is time to start looking so that we could get to know the boat before
we begin our journey.
It didn’t take long to find the boat perfect for us. A couple of trips to Florida and we found her………Cheers!
We live in Ohio and want to get her up to Lake Erie. The New York canal is closed for repairs, so
were going to get her up to Chesapeake Bay where we will wait until September to
bring her the rest of the way.
It’s been a busy week and were just now catching our breath
so here’s a quick summary of the events so far…..
We closed on Cheers Tuesday June 30th.
Departed for Fernandina Beach on Wednesday and ran into our
first storm at Fort Pierce inlet.
Completed our first 26 hour run – 191 nautical miles! Tied up to a buoy in Saint Augustine for the
night for some needed rest.
Back out to sea for 54 hours – 420 nautical miles arriving in
Oriental Harbor Marina and Inn.
