Stuart to St. Augustine

We had a great stay in Stuart.  Our friends Trish and Paul joined us on Thursday and stayed with us as we traveled north to St. Augustine.

Our journey started Saturday 4/20, traveling about 4 hours on the intercoastal waterway to Ft. Pierce, where we docked at the Ft. Pierce City Marina.  The marina is adjacent to a park and there were two events going on.  A Kingfish Tournament and the annual Ft. Pierce Oyster Fest so there were lots going on!  We had dinner on the balcony at Crabby's.

Sunday we made our way to Vero Beach City Marina in about 2 1/2 hours, and it was hot!  Good thing we decided to take a dock!  It was such a calm and quiet marina.  We tried our hand at fishing, but no luck.  Paul and Trish made us home made Lasagna for dinner and we settled in for the night with a movie.

Monday we left early because we had a 7 hour ride to Cocoa Village where we hoped to watch a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral.  As we traveled a couple of dolphins came along side and played in our wake for a while.

The rocket launch ended up getting postponed until the following day.  We did stay at the Cocoa Village anchorage for 2 nights allowing us to to watch the rocket launch on Tuesday.   Unfortunately we were so excited about watching the launch, we didn't take any pictures! Lol!   I did get a picture of the sunset!

Wednesday 4/24 we left Cocoa Village and got into Titusville Marina where we stayed one night.   One of the YouTuber's that we watch, Trying Not To Sink, was on their boat preparing for a trip to the Bahamas.

The marina was full of dolphins and manatees!

Thursday we left Titusville, planning on stopping in New Smyrna.  It was such a great ride we decided to keep going.  We ended our ride in Daytona Beach, where we anchored in Shady Place Anchorage.

Friday 4/26 the water was like glass as we left Daytona Beach headed to Palm Coast Marina.

While in Palm Coast we unboxed our new paddleboard and gave it a try!

Saturday 4/27 we left Palm Coast Marina headed to St. Augustine where we stayed in the mooring field for 2 nights.

Our guests caught an Uber home Saturday afternoon and came back with their car to take us out for provisions and dinner in Jacksonville. Thanks guys!

Sunday afternoon Bill and I explored St. Augustine.  It was a beautiful day!

Sunday night we had dinner at Harry's.  The service was great, the food was awesome, especially the crab bisque😋and there was live music!  Perfect!

Ft. Lauderdale to Stuart FL

Monday 4/8 we left the mooring ball in Ft. Lauderdale for a 3 hour ride to Boca Raton, where we anchored in Lake Boca Raton.  It was a nice anchorage with half being 12ft deep and the other ankle deep.  This was a popular stop for charter boats.  There is also a boat ramp just a short ride away so that we can get Roxie to land.

We had a partial eclipse in Boca Raton but it was pretty cloudy.  It didn't get dark, but there was an eerie shadow.  We didn't have glasses so we didn't get to look at it.

After work on Tuesday I went on a cleaning frenzy.  I had planned on doing a deep cleaning when we got to Stuart, but there was so much dust everywhere after being in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, I just couldn't stand it any longer.  Around 5 o'clock Bill and I took the dingy to the boat ramp and went for a walk over to the beach and to pick-up an order of lobster bisque and a lobster roll from Mistic Lobster Roll.

The beach was pretty wavy with the red warning flag a flying, but that didn't stop the surfers!

There is a park between A1A and the beach that was so full of plants and trees that they create a tunnel of shade and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach.  So pretty!

Wednesday morning we started heading north again and made it to an anchorage in North Palm Beach.  The wind was picking up and the forecast was for steady winds of 15-20 with gusts up to 30 mph.  We set an extra long scope on the anchor with plenty of room to swing.

We made it to Stuart Friday afternoon, where we had a reservation for a weeks stay at Safe Harbor, the marina where we bought Cheers.  We have officially crossed our wake and completed the great loop!
